I am an artist, a painter, a draw-er of drawings, a mixed media dabbler.  My art is a
catharsis, an exploration, an intuitive movement through my dreams and the life lessons
I am working on learning.  In my current work, I am using the feminine form to focus
inward, finding the beauty and strength that resides with in me and every woman I have
    ever known.

I am influenced by the bright colors and patterns of Klimt and Hundertwasser, by the
illustrative borders of Mucha and other Nouveau artists, 1970’s poster art, and by the bold simplicity of Pop Art. I also
love many comic book artists such as Johnen Vasquez, Dave McKean, and Sam Keith. I am inspired by my daughter,
good books, and music that makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck, friends and laughter, and movies that
take me into another world.

I was born in Loveland, Colorado, in 1976, but having lived in Portland for over a decade now, I really consider myself
an Oregonian.  I graduated from Portland State in 2002, two years after the birth of my daughter, with a Bachelor’s
degree in Drawing, Painting, and Printmaking. For more about me and my work you can visit
my blog.

I am frequently asked about my last name, Keohane.  It is Americanized Irish (but I forgive you if you thought it was
Hawaiian!).  It is pronounced KO-
hane (both "e"s are silent).
